March calls us to celebration: the woman who teaches, researches, leads, and transforms. In this edition, we honor the many facets of women, as teachers, scientists, professionals, mothers, and activists—whose knowledge and practices renew academic and social life.
The image on our cover, contributed by Prof. Architect Liliane Camargo, evokes La Lectrice (1874) by Pierre-Auguste Renoir: a reader immersed, illuminated by the delicacy of gesture and the softness of colors. This intimate scene conveys something essential to scientific and pedagogical work: the silent encounter with knowledge, the attentive effort that leads to discovery, and the sensitivity that shapes new questions and guides the texts gathered in this issue.
We bring together research and articles that celebrate this reflective and active presence. From the classroom to the laboratory, from public policies to community initiatives, the voices presented here show how women’s perspectives expand questions, methodologies, and impacts, revealing how careful attention transforms practice into knowledge.
To celebrate is not to romanticize difficulties; it is to make inequalities visible, highlight progress, and inspire concrete actions in universities, institutions, and everyday practices to ensure equity and recognition. May the image of the reader remind us that reading, thinking, and teaching are political and transformative acts.
To all women who build knowledge with courage and generosity, we offer our gratitude and commitment. May your stories, multiplied through policies, curricula, and opportunities, continue to illuminate paths.
I wish everyone an excellent reading and an inspiring journey through the pages of this new edition.
