LASER EFFECTS ON TREATMENT OF CHRONIC LUMBAR PAIN BY LASERPUNCTURE

Abstract

Pain is a complex, subjective and multidimensional perceptual phenomenon. It can be defined as an unpleasant sensation created by a noxious stimulus that affects the central nervous system through specific pathways, and lumbar spine pain is one of the most common disorders in the population. worldwide. This review aims to portray the painful stimuli and their effects on the quality of life of people affected by this stimulus and the effects of low intensity laser associated with acupuncture protocols in the treatment of chronic low back pain. The research was carried out from a review of the specialized literature, consulting scientific articles published from 1995 until the most current 2019 using as descriptors in Portuguese and English alone or in combination: Laser, low back pain, chronic low back pain, laser puncture. In conclusion, laserpuncture has become an effective technique in pain, among them low back pain, being an alternative method in treatment, opening a discussion and a new dimensioning of complementary techniques, favoring the reduction of analgesic drug intake.
