According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), Brazil ranks second worldwide in cesarean deliveries, with approximately 56% of births performed surgically, while the rate recommended by the organization ranges from 10% to 15%, only in cases of real medical necessity. This excessive number of cesarean sections may lead to complications that go beyond the functional sphere, directly affecting the aesthetic and emotional aspects of women. Among these complications are alterations in the skin healing process, such as keloids, fibrosis, hypertrophic scars, and adhesions. This study aimed to analyze the physiotherapeutic approach in the treatment of aesthetic complications following cesarean delivery, with an emphasis on skin healing and functional rehabilitation. It consists of an integrative literature review, based on searches in the SciELO, PubMed, Google Scholar, databases, covering publications from 2018 to 2024. The results indicated that different physiotherapeutic techniques, such as shockwave therapy, low-level laser therapy, and manual methods, may positively contribute to the improvement of tissue elasticity and functionality. However, further studies are needed to confirm, with greater scientific rigor, the comparative efficacy of these interventions. It is concluded that dermato-functional physiotherapy plays a relevant role in the aesthetic and functional rehabilitation of post-cesarean scars.
