Abstract

The fish farming in tanks networks is in full expansion in tilapia cultivation. In aquaculture, several projectshave been responsible for collecting US $ 70 million in the Piracicaba Basin, São Paulo. This work aimed toevaluate a very commented practice among fish farmers, which was the evaluation of swine manure in thetilapia diet, through the Peixe-Pork consortium that can provide farmers with a way to minimize the costs offeeding fish in the growth phase, adding the benefits of fixing the man in the field, giving greater value to hisproperty, in addition to enabling the recycling of a pollutant organic waste. The experiment that had thegradual substitution of 20% of swine manure in the diets of juvenile fry in each treatment until 80%substitution of the commercial ration used. The treatment that had 20% of the inclusion of swine manure intheir diet showed a better parameter of biomass, feed conversion and survival. What has allowed us tospeculate that if 70% of the costs of tilapia production corresponds to food, a reduction of 20% in this costcenter can result in greater profitability for producers.
